Feeling Free: Policies that Promote a Sense of Autonomy within Academic Institutions
Understanding the integration of students within university environments is crucial. The policies that govern academic institutions must not only ensure fairness but actively support inclusivity at every level. Being aware of potential biases and addressing them proactively is essential for both students and educators. A deep understanding of these elements is key to truly welcoming diverse individuals, and helping them feel valued in our academic and professional spaces. When we acknowledge and work on these aspects, we are not only enhancing educational experiences but also fostering an atmosphere where all students can thrive and contribute. #IntegrationInEducation #InclusiveLearning

University Policies have great importance for the good management of the Academic Institution. They can give relevance to everything or put everything down by rules that don’t truly respect the people. I would like to focus on two related concepts:
- Diversity and Inclusivity
- Intellectual Property
Diversity and Inclusivity is a must-haves for a globalized world pushed toward the freedom of expression of all beliefs and cultures. I chose it because inclusion is the first right to receive as an integral part of the world. This policy is not just a policy, it is a rule to improve the power of an institution. Diversity does not have a limit; it represents the real energy of development. We live in a multicultural world that requires us to be the creators too, all the things that we represent could be a lesson of life for others. I firmly believe that being part of the world means giving the world the gift of help to thank it for the life that it gave to us. Hence, Non-discrimination and Disability Policy are part of it, part of a world that requires the help of everyone to be saved from the big hungriness of economy and power.
The Intellectual Property is another vital point. To respect the world, we need to respect others’ ideas and creations. Why is it vital? For the simple reason that by creating a community, respecting intellectual Property is a commitment and growth for everyone, we respect the voice that said a certain thing and we allow others to explore new concepts and knowledge.
In conclusion, being integrated and integrating the ideas of people is like a carpet of development, a continuum to pursue to have a better world represented by creators, different beliefs, and different cultures. We are a gift and, as a gift, we need to express ourselves by letting others free of exteriorizing. If we limit ourselves, we leave to the world the possibility of growth that it needs, as if we let other people be limited.
We can finally say that: "Our freedom is interconnected with the freedom of Others, as true freedom exists only when Others are not restricted by us." University studies need it because the University is integrated into society as the society represents the university, we need growth to let the world grow by starting with inclusivity and respect for people.
